The play 'Macbeth' confronts the audience with the consequences of logic, where the path forward is scrutinised through the eyes of the titular characters.
Lady Macbeth's vaulting political ambition that spurs her husband into terrible action occurs in a fashion that mirrors modern attempts by contemporary figures to snatch power for themselves. The proposed design seeks to reflect itself on the audience with spacious representations of wealth, power, and the vicious nature of modern corporations.
'Macbeth' is situated in a penthouse suite - his occupation is an investment broker on Wall St, his sole concern the corporate rungs above him. The built world of the play contrasts bright, open exposure, where characters and their actions are taken at face value, against the facade it draws over its shadowy underside.
It provides commentary on the consequential isolation and moral extinction suffered by those who seek to obtain unlawful dominion and control.
