A passionate theatrical designer from Melbourne, inspired by creative icons such as Tim Burton and Richard O'Brian. Ella Barrett loves to merge the macabre and unusual with glamour and camp to create unique and eye-catching designs, with a particular love for musical theatre.

Developing her craft at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), she has explored various genres and areas of design, including Costume Designer for Four Letter Word’s ‘Lord of the Flies’, and Set Designer for Short Straw Theatre Company’s ‘The Effect’.

Her standout roles at VCA are as Senior Costumier on 'Ocean (an arrangement)', and Associate Costume Designer on 'Curtains'. Ella continues to evolve her style while collaborating with other incredible artists to create both established and fresh new work for the stage.
