At its core, Macbeth as a play illustrates how toxic ambition leads to self-destruction - a sentiment so often observed in the world of Hollywood’s rich and famous.

Inspired by this, this version of the Scottish play takes place on a retro late-night Hollywood talk show; featuring Duncan as the host and the rest of the nobility as fellow rich and powerful celebrities. Meanwhile, the Three Witches take the form of the TV camera crew. At first, their cameras (connected to live screens integrated into the set) are on Duncan as their main point of attraction, but as soon as Duncan is killed, their focus quickly switches to Macbeth and Lady Macbeth - whether the pair want the attention or not.
